Global Primary Care Program

The Global Primary Care (GPC) Program at Massachusetts General Hospital integrates the principles and practice of global health and primary care.

The GPC Residency is a four-year ACGME-accredited residency in internal medicine. Combining clinical excellence in primary care and global health - domestically and abroad - the program develops future leaders in clinical care and global primary care systems.

The GPC Curriculum highlights comparative lessons across diverse country and resource settings, teaching core concepts in primary health care policy, planning, implementation, delivery,  and community engagement.

The GPC program collaborates with domestic and international partners to create opportunities for residents and faculty. Initial sites include the MGH Chelsea Health Center in Chelsea, Massachusetts and the Bugoye Health Center in rural Uganda.
